First Lego League Challenge 2013:
Call for Participation
FIRST LEGO League (FLL), a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds, is designed to get children excited about science and technology and teach them valuable employment and life skills.
Each year, children are given an engineering or scientific topic as the challenge. In FLL, they do the work: programming an autonomous robot (using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface, creating an innovative solution to a problem as part of their project, and all while being guided by the FLL Core Values. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.
In the 2013 NATURE’S FURY℠ Challenge, children will explore the awe-inspiring storms, quakes, waves and more that we call natural disasters. Teams will discover what can be done when intense natural events meet the places people live, work, and play.
RSM-Metrowest is building a team for the 2013 challenge. This Spring we will provide two 6-session classes to learn building and programming robots using Lego Mindstorms NXT Robotics System. New students can enroll via our website, www.metrowestschool.com. Please enter "Robotics" in the comment field. Current RSM-Metrowest students simply need to contact the office to register, via email at email@example.com or by phone at 508-283-1355.
