MWSM 2010 Awards Ceremony
The MWSM Annual Awards Ceremony took place on June 26, 2010, with over 75 awards in many categories. We recognized winners in the AMC and MOEMS competitions, Math Kangaroo, and MWSM puzzle contests; participants in the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth; and many other achievers. Rupayan Neogy, a winner in AMC-8, MOEMS and Math Kangaroo, entertained the assembly with a skillful magic show. It is a great pleasure to see the number of MWSM students participating in various math competitions locally and nationally - and so many winning at the national level. Congratulations to all - and wishing all another year of fun, learning, success, and achievement!
Jeanine and Dorothy Winter Fund for Advancement of Academic Achievement at MWSM
Jeanine and Dorothy Winter have supported many distinguished educational organizations. Among them are the Weizmann institute of Science and the Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School in Marlborough, MA. Last year, they established the Jeanine and Dorothy Winter
Fund dedicated to the advancement and promotion of academic success at the Metrowest School of Mathematics. Since 2009, the fund awarded MWSM students who achieved top distinction at National competitions. See the list of the Winter Fund beneficiaries in the 2009-2010 school year.

MWSM Hiking Club
We have created a hiking club, the first outing of which was on May 30 to the cliffs of Crow Hill in Leominster State Forest. The hike was a great success, and will hopefully start a good tradition at MWSM. A schedule of future hikes will appear here.
