Pre-school Math is a pilot program targeting early development of a strong sense of math as an essential life skill. An excellent entryway to our mainstream K-12 offering, This class combines the development of literacy skills, understanding and appreciation of nature and art, with the early development of essential math concepts like counting, sequencing, shape and number recognition, measurements, etc. This cross disciplinary approach gives a strong boost to the intellectual development of a child's personality as a whole. The underlying pedagogical approach is based on the belief that conceptual understanding of math at this early age is dramatically enhanced by a class setting where try-and-error experiences, research-based exploration activities and enjoyable playful atmosphere stimulate child's natural curiosity which is the best foundation for building mathematical understanding. Age-appropriate technology, manipulatives, play materials, and a library of wonderful math books serve to enhance and enrich the learning experience in the classroom. The class is taught by Oxana Longinova, whocse background can be found at Our Teacher's page,
