Math Kangaroo |
Math Kangaroo is a popular international not-selective competition in mathematics for students in grades 1 through 12. The competition takes the form of a multiple choice test. Each participant is seen as a winner and receives recognition and gifts on the test day in March. Those who achieve the top results are awarded in May. The atmosphere of appreciation for the students' learning and the fun in each competition room across USA are the reasons why participants return year after year and bring their siblings and friends along. Math Kangaroo helps the students both to develop their skills and to enjoy mathematics even more. Math Kangaroo is an international competition. Not only has it spread from country to country, but the various countries in which the competition takes place work together each year on choosing the problems for the contest. It also takes place at the same time throughout the world. However, the results are not compared between various countries, and prizes are awarded by the national organizers of the competition.
Math Kangaroo in USA is always looking forward to continuing growth by adding new locations and new participants. We invite you to be part of the Math Kangaroo story. For more information about Math Kangaroo visit their home page www.mathkangaroo.org
Math Kangaroo 2012
This year, Math Kangaroo will take place on March 15 (there are no regular classes on that day). Registration for the contest is open. Please visit www.mathkangaroo.org and choose Metrowest School of mathematics as the testing site. We still have a limited number of seats available.
This year we are excited to offer a new math contest training opportunity for our littlest students in grades 1 through 3. This trainig will concentrate on Math Kangaroo preparation, but will also prepare our youngest students to the world of math contests in general. This program is sponsored by Jeannette and Dorothy Winter Fund and is free for MWSM students.
